Missions Update and How to Get Involved Now

• International Friends, a ministry of Sarepta Baptist Association, needs kitchenware for international families moving to Athens by July 31st.  Contact Marcia Caskey.
• Groups are needed to fill our Food Bank slots in December 2008 and for Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen times slots in January 2009 and April 2009.  Contact Reeves Carter. 
• The Ark Benefit Golf Tournament is August 9 at the UGA Golf Course. For more information or to register On-line visit www.athensark.org. 
• Volunteer at the day-center, provide a meal, host guests, drive the van, or tutor chidren with Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens. Contact Greg Bickley or Reeves Carter. Our upcoming IHNA host weeks for 2008 are:
  • August 31-September 7
  • November 30-December 7 
• Explore local volunteer opportunities at Hands On Northeast Georgia.
• Volunteer to work at the Athens Emergency Food Bank or Our Daily Bread. Contact the church office.
• Bring in food for the Athens Emergency Food Bank.  There is a box of the Food Bank in the Missions Room. 
• Volunteer as a teacher or childcare worker on Thursdays with International Friends. Contact Joyce Gravely
• Teach a Sunday School Class at Denney Towers. Contact Carl Monk.
• Help keep the Denney Towers pantry filled with canned food, soap and detergent.  There is a "Denney Towers Pantry" box in the missions room.  For a detailed list of needs click here.
