This is what we've been doing recently and how you can get involved in current and upcoming projects.
- Our next Interfaith Hospitality Network of Athens host week is October 3-10, 2010. Volunteer at the day-center, provide a meal, host guests, or drive the van. Click here to view opportunities to serve at First Baptist and to sign up.
- The Athens Emergency Food Bank currently needs: canned pork and beans, dried pasta, etc. Items can be left in the "food bank" bin in the missions room.
- The Council on Aging is looking for small Bingo prizes, plastic bags to help transport meals-on-wheels and dog and cat food. There is a labeled box in the missions room.
- IHNA now has a storage unit, therefore can now accept donations of furniture and other household items. To arrange to make a donation please contact IHNA directly at 706-425-1881.
- Explore local volunteer opportunities at Hands On Northeast Georgia.
- Volunteer to work at the Athens Emergency Food Bank or Our Daily Bread. Contact the church office.
- Volunteer as a teacher or childcare worker on Thursdays with International Friends. Contact Joyce Gravely
- Teach a Sunday School Class at Denney Towers. Contact Carl Monk.
- Help keep the Denney Towers pantry filled with canned food, soap and detergent. There is a "Denney Towers Pantry" box in the missions room. For a detailed list of needs click here.
