We are a loving and caring church. Our concern for others is revealed through our work through Stephen Ministry, the Interfaith Hospitality Network, the food bank, the soup Kitchen and various community ministries. Providing love and support has always been a characteristic of our church. We are fortunate to have loving, caring members, and we seek to provide love and support for them. We continue to do this to be the church Christ wants us to be.
We are a mission minded church that aspires to become a mission—driven church. Our members have helped start nine other churches in this area. We carry out missions to special groups such as the Baptist Student Union, international students, and other campus groups, and we support a strong daycare program for parents and children at Parkview Play School. We contribute to international missions through the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. In addition, we have conducted missions in the United States, England, Europe, India, Jamaica and elsewhere.
We are a cooperative church. We work with Baptist organizations in missions and other programs and with churches of other denominations in Athens in providing worship services, convocations, and concerts. We engage in worship and mission projects with African– American Churches, and we seek to be an agent for racial harmony in the community. We help teach English as a second language and provide other programs for internationals, and we seek to be a catalyst for missions and service in the Athens area.
